This site sets no cookies. We count visits without knowing who made them, and the only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us.

Who we are

Nakato is the trading name of Presential AI Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“Nakato”, “we”, “us”). We run this website and decide how the information described here is used, which makes us its controller under UK GDPR. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@nakato.ai.

What we collect when you visit

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. For each page view it records the page, the site that sent you, your country, and the kind of device, operating system and browser you used. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Visits are grouped by a hash of the request that is discarded within 24 hours, so we cannot tell who you are, recognise you on a later visit or follow you to other websites.

Our host, Vercel, also processes your IP address and the details of each request in order to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. The pictures on the site are stored with Prismic, our content service, whose image servers receive the same details when your browser fetches a picture from them.

What you send us

If you email us, to ask for a technical briefing or anything else, we receive what you choose to send: usually your name, your work email address, your company, your job title and your message. If you write to us about a role, that includes anything you attach, such as a CV.

The design-partner form for the developer programme, on the developers page, sends nothing by itself. It opens your own email app with your answers filled in, and nothing reaches us until you send that email.

Why we use it

We rely on our legitimate interests to:

  • understand which pages are read, so we can make the site better;
  • keep the site running and secure;
  • reply to you, arrange a technical briefing, and consider you for a role or a partnership you have written to us about.

We also use it where the law requires us to.

Where you ask us to take a step before entering into an agreement with you, such as considering your application, we also rely on that. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we make no automated decisions about you.

Our product is different

This policy covers the website. Our product runs inside each customer’s own environment, under a written agreement with that customer: their real data never leaves it, and the model only ever sees the twin. How that data is handled is set out in the agreement, not here.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies for visitors, so there is nothing to accept or decline. It keeps two small flags in your browser: one remembers that you have visited before, so the opening animation is shorter next time, and one remembers that you closed the note about cookies, so the note does not come back. Neither says anything about you, and clearing your browser’s data for this site removes both.

The one exception is for our own editors. When someone on our team previews an unpublished draft, our content service sets a cookie in their browser for that preview. It is never set for visitors.

Who else handles it

Three services handle information for us, only on our instructions:

  • Vercel, which hosts the site and counts visits;
  • Prismic, which stores the site’s words and pictures;
  • our email provider, which holds the messages you send us.

We share information with no one else, unless the law requires us to.

Where it is kept

These services may process information outside the UK and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by safeguards recognised in UK and EU law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, the EU standard contractual clauses or the Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

Visit counts are kept only as totals, which cannot be traced back to you. We keep what you send us for as long as we need it for the reason you sent it, or for as long as the law requires, and no longer. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, stop using it, or give it to you in a portable form. Write to hello@nakato.ai and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority where you live. We would welcome the chance to put it right first.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects information we already hold about you, we will tell you directly.
